Coursework

To become an alumnus of the ESSEC Private Equity Chair, students must:

1. Complete two compulsory courses

2. Complete the Private Equity Chair Seminar FINE31401

3. Complete a Term Project/Case Study

Please refer to Case Studies.

4. Participate in a role-playing simulation game

In this simulation, organized at the end of the coursework, students play the role of members of a PE investment team participating in an auction sale of a private company. The role of sellers is played by representatives of the sponsors of the Chair. Students are handed-in an investment memo and have 3 to 4 hours to prepare a pitch to the company’s owners. The sellers ask questions about the students’ proposal and expect professional and consistent answers, just as it would be the case in a ‘live’ situation.
